Carrots may help lung function

Research from France suggests that increasing your intake of foods rich in beta-carotene, which is found in brightly coloured food such as carrots, could slow the natural decline in lung function that comes with age.

The 10-year span the study found that increasing beta-carotene levels approximately counteracts the effect of one year of aging and those with the highest blood levels of beta-carotene kept over 20% more lung function than those with low levels.
