Pilates Equipment

Pilates will uniformly strengthen the entire body while improving flexibility, posture and balance. Pilates will also increase core strength that can help prevent back pain.

Pilates was designed in 1900's by German-born Joseph Hubertus Pilates and was originally called Contrology. He then later called it Pilates after his surname. It is recognised that Joseph Pilates was ahead of his time. He used his system of movement to guide people to uniform health and wellness. German boxes, dancers and artists took up his Pilates techniques and it was even used to help the recovery of wounded German soldiers returning from the front during the First World War.

Not only does Pilates restore grace and flexibility it also concentrates on invigorating weak areas of the body and focuses on breathing to create improvement in the lungs and circulatory system.

Pilates is a form of exercise that not only improves the body but the mind as well.

Although Pilates can be done with very little or no equipment when you add specifically designed products from Align Pilates such as Reformers, Cadillacs, Boxes, Barrels and Chairs you then open up whole new range of movements and advanced techniques.

Align Pilates makes equipment for both home and commercial establishments.
